Hi, I'm Julie

"The first thing I’d like you to know about me, is that I have lived with debilitating chronic pain.  I’ve experienced the daily fear and despair, the mental and physical battle just to get through each day, and I know how that existence steals your joy. I have been diagnosed with degenerative, bulging discs, facet joint syndrome, scoliosis, instability and arthritis of the spine. I have been through the gamut of different mainstream and alternative therapies with minimal effect and I have been led to believe that there was nothing to do but accept my sorry situation and try to manage it.

The second thing (and this is the important bit!), is that I didn’t give up. I kept searching and stumbled across the latest science (neuroscience) which proves that pain is a sensation created by the brain to keep us safe.  It proves that the brain does not just respond to physical threats which may harm us but also emotional, social and environmental threats.   I discovered the works of Donna Jackson-Nakazawa, Dr John Sarno, Dr Howard Schubiner and Alan Gordon (to name just a few!).  I learned everything I could from them and then… I ‘unlearned’ my pain and I recovered, without any medication or surgery.

I’m so amazed by my recovery (and the recoveries of tens of thousands of others who have found this work) and so fascinated by the science… and I get the greatest satisfaction from guiding and supporting others on their own journey of recovery.

If you would like to learn more about me and how I can help you, I offer a FREE 'Discovery call' so please do get in touch…"

Julie has spent her entire working life within the field of medicine and health.  She qualified as a nurse and spent several years working in Trauma Orthopaedics and Intensive Care before entering the world of medical underwriting where she created and managed medical screening systems for insurance companies; spending many years talking with customers and patients about their health.  She has an empathic ear with a gentle yet pragmatic style which clients find reassuring.

Over the years, Julie has acquired a passion for natural methods of treating the body and mind.

In pursuit of her passion, Julie qualified as a Nutritional Therapist and is registered with the British Association of Nutritional Therapists (BANT). She is also SIRPA trained (Stress Illness Recovery Practitioners’ Association) and is well versed in the IFS Process (Internal Family Systems).  This has enabled her to pursue her ambition of providing certified, professional support to others in their own journey of recovery from chronic symptoms.

Julie’s approach is founded on her belief that when we feed the body what it needs and truly understand the REAL reason for our pain, we can then start to unlearn the pain, build true resilience and find more balance… and we can thrive!
